Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom (UK), was fined by the Lancashire police for not fastening his seatbelt in the backseat of a moving vehicle.

Sunak was captured turning in his seat to speak to the camera while not wearing a seatbelt in an Instagram video he posted last week while visiting Northern England.

The Prime Minister is seen in the video explaining to the populace how he is keeping his commitment to expand the UK’s economy through the Levelling Up Fund.

Creating chances for everyone in the UK is what is meant by “leveling up,” with the intention of bridging the wealth and poverty gap.

“Hi. We are today announcing the second round of allocations from our Levelling Up Fund, which is about investing in local regions in order to create jobs and help deliver on that pledge to enhance growth, Sunak added. Growing the economy was one of his New Year’s resolutions to you.

The social networking website has now removed the video.

Lancashire police responded by writing on Twitter that they learned of the offense after a video of a 42-year-old man became viral on social media.

According to a police statement, a 42-year-old man from London was given a conditional offer of fixed penalty “after the transmission of a video on social media showing an individual failing to wear a seat belt while a passenger in a moving car in Lancashire.”

Sunak’s office responded by stating that the defendant “completely accepts this was a mistake and has apologized” and that he would pay the fine.

“The Prime Minister has apologized and fully accepts that this was a mistake. Of course, he will pay the stipulated fine.

Sunak can avoid a court appearance by paying a fine under a fixed penalty. The prime minister was fined, but the amount was kept a secret by the police.

According to research done by The Nation, anyone who violates the law by not wearing a seatbelt while driving or riding in a vehicle is subject to a fine of up to £500 if the matter proceeds to court.

The police claimed in a tweet that they learned about the offense after a video of a 42-year-old guy became viral on social media.

The 42-year-old man from London was given a conditional offer of fixed penalty today (Friday, Jan. 20), according to a police statement. “Following the circulation of a video on social media showing an individual failing to wear a seat belt while a passenger in a moving car in Lancashire,” the police wrote.
The prime minister is seen addressing the people in the video, which Sunak is rumored to have released on his official Instagram profile, outlining how he is keeping his commitment to expand the UK’s economy through the Levelling Up Fund.
The British government defines Levelling Up as providing chances for everyone in the UK with the goal of bridging the wealth and poverty gap.

“Hi. We are today announcing the second round of allocations from our Levelling Up Fund, which is about investing in local regions in order to create jobs and help deliver on that pledge to enhance growth, Sunak added. Growing the economy was one of his New Year’s resolutions to you.

We are announcing a total of over £2 billion in financing, which will support initiatives in over 100 different UK local communities. Now that I’m out and about, I can observe leveling up in action all throughout the nation right now.

Passengers who don’t buckle up are typically fined £100.
Sunak’s office stated that he will pay the punishment and “totally accepts this was a mistake and has apologized.”

To “generate jobs, drive growth, and ensure that people feel immense pride in the regions that they call home,” says Sunak, the Levelling Up project of the UK government.
